FIVE CITY CENTER

Proposal for a mixed use masterplan in Allentown, Pennsylvania. During my 2nd week at STUDIOS Architecture, I was tasked with creating my own proposal for this project along with a couple other designers which we all presented individually to our design principal. Since I only had one week to formulate my proposal, the design is largely conceptual. While we were tasked with accommodating general program requirements, I was most drawn towards the public facing amenities, such as the performance center and public park. The biergarten acts as a connective tissue between these two elements and the staggered volumes create smaller scale exterior spaces for more intimate gatherings. By establishing parallel volumes that all aligned towards the primary pedestrian pathways from the northeast city square, I intended my design to draw interest towards these amenities.
