The Market Line is a diverse marketplace that spans three city blocks in the Lower East Side. The market is connected via an underground network and is part the Essex Crossing development project. This was one of the first projects that I worked on at STUDIOS Architecture, and it was in the Design Development phase once I was brought onboard. I was primarily responsible for conceiving and refining ideas for the design of the marketplace floor, which was an incredibly enjoyable experience because I was able to synergize art and architecture. The schemes that I developed strived to create an identity for the market level while providing flexible pockets of program such as seating, landscaping, product/art display and kiosks.
